North Tyneside Council is committed to developing its workforce, to enable the delivery of excellent services to the community.

The Council aims to identify, develop and retain talent by identifying and fast-tracking tailored learning and development necessary for the continued success of the business and to assist employees to reach their full potential.

It is recognised that learning and development can take many forms (from internal delivery programmes and on the job training, to external provision) and the council will ensure the most appropriate method, in line with the business needs, is adopted.

The Council believes that all individuals are able to contribute to their own development and they are encouraged to do. Employees will be given assess to the learning and development necessary to enable them to carry out their role competently and confidently. Where appropriate, employees will also be supported in achieving their future career aspirations.

At the council we have a comprehensive library of self directed online learning, internal coaching support, internal training programmes to not only support people in their current job role but also for planning future roles.
