North Tyneside Council is the local authority for the metropolitan borough of North Tyneside. With over 3,500 employees, it is our obligation to protect and maintain high living standards for our residents, and continue to make North Tyneside a desirable destination for visitors.
We do this in a variety of ways, from keeping our beaches clean to looking after children in the care system. We liaise with businesses to help our local economy thrive, we work with local schools to ensure that children are looked-after and respected, and we maintain local democracy by managing the elections.
• We Listen.
• We Care.
• We are Ambitious.
• We are Good Value for Money.
Our ambitious North Tyneside Plan is the driving force for the work we do day-to-day. We aim to create a borough that is thriving, family-friendly, caring, secure, and green. This is demonstrated through every service we provide, but also through our partnerships with our residents, our businesses, our volunteer sector, and all other key organisations. Our commitment to the community is the most important part of our work.
Here at North Tyneside Council, we pride ourselves on being flexible, empowering, and inclusive in everything that we do. Bringing diversity into our workforce is a huge priority for us. We work hard to foster an environment in which you can be completely and uniquely yourself.
We offer our colleagues a range of benefits to support their health and wellbeing, including our Better Health at work programme in which we promote a variety of wellbeing initiatives throughout the year to support our people to be happy and healthy. Many of our jobs also utilise flexible working, making sure that we have a good balance between our working lives and personal lives.
