Middlesbrough Council - Work experience

If you've been out of work for a while or have very little workplace experience, work experience can be a good opportunity to get experience of working in a real job, for 2 to 8 weeks. While on work experience you'll still get any benefits you claim, and you could also get help with appropriate clothing and travel costs from your Work Coach.

By the end of the placement you'll have gained valuable work experience and new skills to add to your CV, a reference from an employer, and have increased your confidence and self-esteem.

To find out about any opportunities currently available in Middlesbrough, speak to their Jobcentre Plus work coach.

If you're not a Jobcentre Plus customer, the National Careers Service, and Prospects may be able to give you advice on how to find work experience placements and their benefits.
