Fixed term contract in the first instance until August 2025

St John’s is a very inclusive school with a caring Christian ethos and you will need to share our passion to provide the very best education and outcomes for our children here. 

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and caring practitioner to join our team. We currently have Enhanced Mainstream Provision and a SEND Unit on site for pupils with a variety of needs including some physical and medical needs.  

The successful candidate will:
  • Supervise and provide support for pupils, particularly with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
  • Write and implement personal care programmes
  • Undertake tasks associated with direct personal care of children including for example toileting, bathing, dressing, supporting with feeding, ensuring safe use and operation of all equipment used.
  • Deliver a variety of therapies (including physical and occupational therapy). 
This position includes:
  • Support for families and carers
  • Direct work with individual and groups of children
  • Contribution to assessments, planning, monitoring and reviews.
  • Working with outside agencies and professionals to deliver a full care package to pupils
  • Being responsible for the management of medications (in conjunction with the SENCO)
  • Ensuring the maintenance of high practice standards, including adherence to statutory requirements, school policy and procedures
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
