South Tyneside Council are one of 75 Local Authorities who have been awarded grant funding to implement, develop and sustain a Family Hubs Network working with families of children aged 0-19 and up to 25 with SEND.  We want all families in South Tyneside to have access to the services and the support they need within easy reach of their home, so we’re making sure our families are at the heart of everything we do.

We are seeking applicants who will bring a can-do approach, with a positive energy and strengths based aspirational outlook for the families and communities they are responsible for serving.

The postholder will undertake the delivery of Infant Mental Health interventions through direct parent/carer support and role modelling practice with children, ensuring high quality practice and provision to enable children to reach their optimum potential.

The role will provide universal, prevention and intervention support, activities and programmes to children, parents/carers and families in line with the Infant Mental Health offer.  The postholder will facilitate and co-facilitate packages of innovative and evidence-based group work and individual programmes to improve outcomes for children.

A sound understanding of the child development, ability to engage families, and experience of providing group programmes is required, but most important is the enthusiasm to assure our services are the very best they can be. Postholders will bring experience of working in partnership with parents and multi-agency working.
