We are looking to recruit a Caretaker who is flexible, enthusiastic and reliable. Are you ready to join a supportive and nurturing special school that works together to achieve the very best outcomes for its pupils?
This is a full-time permanent post working 37 hours per week. Full training will be given to those candidates who wish to apply, but have no experience.
You will be working across both of sites in Ashington & Blyth
Your working hours will be between 07.00 a.m. – 18.00 pm
This may include split shifts for example (07.00 – 10.00 & 1.30 – 18.00)
The hourly rate of pay is £11.98
• You will be responsible for the security of the premises
• Set security alarm systems, report any potential security breaches
• Carrying out cleaning, handy person activities, routine maintenance and refurbishment, and minor repairs;
• Supervision of school cleaning staff;
• Promoting health and safety
• Carry out porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment around school
• Carry out small repairs and DIY projects
• Carry out daily cleaning and ad-hoc duties
• Ordering cleaning materials and ensuring good stock levels
• Some outdoor grounds maintenance is required including litter picking, gritting, snow and ice clearing.
• You must be resourceful and work without supervision with a strong commitment to delivering high standards.
You will report to the Site Manager
