We are seeking to recruit an experienced senior Leader or Education Adviser to join our Education and Standards School Improvement Team.
As a School Improvement Officer, you will be working with a team of highly motivated professionals across the wider Learning and Early Help service who are committed to further improving school standards and outcomes for all children across South Tyneside; this will include working collaboratively with leaders to challenge and support continual improvement across schools and academies.
You will have significant senior leadership experience within the primary, secondary or special education sector, including a good knowledge of pupil pathways, excellent analytical and evaluative skills, and a deep understanding of effective strategies for improvement. You will be committed to helping to secure the contextual safeguarding of all children, improving attendance and behaviour, and reducing suspensions and permanent exclusions. In addition, you will have a broad understanding of the wider curriculum and assessment frameworks and a secure knowledge of the current Ofsted Education Inspection Framework.
You will have a proven track record of leading improvements within your current educational role and of supporting other schools with their improvement journeys. You will be able to demonstrate good interpersonal skills, being able to build and maintain effective working relationships while managing challenging conversations. You will have excellent analytical skills and a deep understanding of the complexity of known and emerging strengths and risks for schools and settings
