Children’s residential services within County Durham continues to expand and as we open more homes we are looking to grow our teams of dedicated, compassionate practitioners.
We want to be sure that our homes are places where our children thrive, places where they feel safe and cared for and we know that this takes a great team of people.

The role:

As a Residential Worker you will be involved in all aspects of the lives of our children and young people, this will include transporting them to school, college or appointments, making their home a clean, warm and cosy environment, cooking meals and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies.

Our children and young people have often experienced trauma so one of our key priorities is to provide a home that feels safe. We need you to offer them understanding through meaningful relationships, we need you to listen to them and to take in to account their views, wishes and feelings. The role can be challenging and requires dedication and resolve however, the personal rewards are immense.

We are seeking individuals who are child centred, able to act as a positive role model and become an effective member of the team. You should be emotionally resilient, reliable and flexible in your approach to work.

The role will involve working a range of shifts including weekdays, evenings and weekends, you will also be required for sleep in duties. To apply for this role, you should be 22 years old or above and have experience of working with children and young people.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure & Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

It is anticipated that interviews will be held on week commencing 21st March.
