The successful candidate will actively contribute to the services?of the Property Services' Design Team and delivery of capital programmes and capital projects for in-house and external clients.?As the Senior Capital Project Manager (Programming) you will be responsible to the Design Team Manager and receive additional supervision from the Project Management Lead on specific projects.

?
The role will provide programming and project management on property, construction and design related projects. You will have responsibility for project budgets up to £30m and be required to monitor, and report on, programme and individual project spend, as well as authorising project expenditure for services.?You will also be required to act as client-side project manager for the management of capital projects on behalf of Northumberland County Council to achieve project time, cost and quality objectives. You will provide the interface between the project delivery team and the Council taking a strategic view focused on ensuring the project delivers the expected outcome and benefits to the organisation and stakeholders.

You will provide a professional service and support the senior staff within the Design Team regarding team operations. The role involves: direct line-management reports of between 1 and 5 staff; management of external consultants and contractors over a wide range of different sites across the county, and normally managing at least 4 projects, and/or programmes, concurrently.

This post will be based at County Hall, Morpeth, but will potentially involve daily travel throughout the County of Northumberland therefore you must be able to meet the transport requirements. The organisation is currently assessing “hybrid working” options for all departments, which may lead to an agreed percentage of home-working time becoming possible.
