A professional and enthusiastic Senior Technical Officer is required to join the Environmental Health Team within the Public Protection Service working within the Housing and Pollution team. An Officer with either a Housing disrepair specialism with HHSRS experience or noise and planning experience is required.

This is a varied role to include investigations into housing disrepair and statutory nuisance. The area covers regulation of licensed houses in multiple occupation and permitted industrial processes. Depending on experience, the STO may provide support in the review of planning applications with regard to environmental issues and in assessment of consultants’ reports.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated professional with the relevant level of experience in an Environmental Health background. The candidate will have worked previously as a Technical Officer in Housing or Pollution sector in a local authority and have enforcement experience.
