Fixed Term Tutor of Outdoor Education
Salary: £24,717 - £27,394

Derwent Hill is one of the success stories in local authority outdoor provision, providing quality outdoor education for young people and training for business.
We are looking to appoint a permanent tutor to join our experienced, enthusiastic team.
We are keen to hear from you if you have:
• A commitment to safe, enjoyable Outdoor Education
• The ability to organise and deliver high quality personal development courses
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• At least 3 years experience working with children on outdoor programmes
• A good level of competence in a range of outdoor activities

Derwent Hill, near Keswick, is owned by Sunderland City Council and makes a significant contribution to the work of Children’s Services. The core of the Centre’s work is with school children, primarily Y6. However, most Sunderland secondary schools also visit Derwent Hill on outdoor education or GCSE courses. The Centre is a major provider of courses for youth and community groups. Our Training Centre clients include local government departments and the manufacturing industry.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will be subject to a criminal record check from the Criminal Records Bureau. Derwent Hill safeguards students & staff by being committed to Sunderland Safeguarding Board procedures.
