Further information

The Governors of Seascape Primary School are recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work with identified pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) needs on a one to one basis or small group basis.

You will be supporting pupils with EHC’s who require behavioural support in the classroom to promote their inclusion. It is essential that the right candidate has experience of dealing with high level disruption and other behavioural issues in a classroom or specialist setting. You will need to be motivated to ensure the pupils remains focused so they make progress. You need to be confident building effective relationships with pupils with behavioural needs, helping to keep them engaged in their learning. If you have undertaken Team Teach training, this would be an advantage but is not essential.

The right candidate will be motivational and respond to the needs of the pupils while ensuring they learn, are engaged and motivated. The successful applicant will have patience and experience using positive behaviour management techniques to motivate and focus pupils.

The school is an inclusive Primary School where the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. We have a Pastoral Team who are passionate about their roles and the pupils that they support within the school. The successful candidate will be able to access a wide range of CPD and personal development opportunities.

Application packs are available at the school or by e-mail – d.hobson301@durhamlearning.net
