Excelsior Academy would like to appoint a Teacher of English for an immediate start for a part-time, 1 day a week basis.   The post is suitable for an ECT or a more experienced colleague. 
 
The ideal candidate will positively contribute to raising standards of attainment and achievement for all pupils at Excelsior. They will provide consistently high-quality teaching and enable the effective use of resources to facilitate high standards of learning and achievement for all pupils. 

Working at Excelsior will challenge you but the rewards are huge. Successful candidates will play an important role in our continuous drive for further improvement and will have the potential to work in Key Stages 3 and 4.

Excelsior Academy was opened in 2008 and became the first All Through school in Newcastle, offering education to pupils from 3 to 19 years of age. Excelsior serves one of the most challenging communities both in the region and nationally. All pupils in our primary, secondary and sixth form provision have access to the same high quality teaching, exceptional facilities and fabulous resources. Our purpose built building provides excellent facilities for the 1500+ pupils who study here. Approximately 200 pupils attend our primary school, 1100 in the secondary phase and 180 in the sixth form. We are a popular choice for our local community and are now oversubscribed in most year groups.
