The Ascent Academies’ Trust was founded in 2012 and is a family of four special academies in the North East of England, over three different local authorities. We are a collaborative group of academies who work closely with one another in order to achieve the best outcomes for our young people. As a result, our academies have improved year on year and all academies are currently at least Good from an Ofsted rating, with some individual areas rated Outstanding.

This is an exciting time to join our Trust as we look to set out our next steps in creating brilliant schools. We are an ethical Trust whose vision and values are aligned to equality and diversity, collaboration and lifelong learning.

We are looking to recruit to our TA2 and TA1 vacancies within Ash Trees Academy, Barbara Priestman Academy, Hope Wood Academy and Portland Academy.  The following types of contracts are available: permanent; temporary; job-share/ part-time and supply.

Salary information

TA2s (Teaching Assistants) - based at Barbara Priestman, Portland or Hope Wood Academy
Hours/ weeks: 37hours/wk, 39 weeks (TTO + 1 week)
Salary: Grade D £20,669 - £21,015 actual paid salary for working 37 hours per week/ 39 weeks per year (pay award pending)

TA2s (Teaching Assistants) - based at Ash Trees Academy
Hours/ weeks: 32.5hours/wk, 39 weeks (TTO + 1 week)
Salary: Grade D £18,153 - £18,451 actual paid salary for working 32.5 hours per week/ 39 weeks per year (pay award pending)

TA1s (Care Assistants) - based at Barbara Priestman, Portland or Hope Wood Academy
Hours/ weeks: 37hours/wk, 39 weeks (TTO + 1 week)
Salary: Grade C £19,998 - £20,330 actual paid salary for working 37 hours per week/ 39 weeks per year (pay award pending)

TA1s (Care Assistants) - based at Ash Trees Academy
Hours/ weeks: 32.5hours/wk, 39 weeks (TTO + 1 week)
Salary: Grade C £17,572 - £17,855 actual paid salary for working 32.5 hours per week/ 39 weeks per year (pay award pending)

Supply contracts hourly rates:
TA2s - £12.18 - £12.38 (holiday plusage also added to the hourly rate shown) (pay award pending)
TA1s - £11.79 - £11.98 (holiday plusage also added to the hourly rate shown) (pay award pending)

Interviews will be held over 3 days in various locations and whilst we will try to offer an interview in your preferred Academy, this may not be possible.  However, during your interview, we will ask which Academy you would like to work at should you be successful at the interview stage

Interview dates are: Wednesday 25th September, Thursday 26th September and Friday 27th September 2024.
