Further Information
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled communicator and stakeholder manager to join the NEY Net Zero Hub and drive an Engagement Plan to champion net zero delivery in the region, promote wider visibility and lead to better understanding of it’s activity.

The post-holder will liaise regularly with the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and support wider communications with Ministers, senior civil servants and decision makers at national and local level.

Working as a valued member of the North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub team, the role will provide advice and guidance to senior stakeholders on established net zero policy at both a national and sub-regional level, and may include public speaking.

The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator and excellent facilitator with strong advocacy skills and a proven ability to forge strong partnerships. They will have knowledge of net zero policy and experience of working with a range of stakeholders, including at senior level.

The ability to demonstrate personal credibility and confidence to stakeholders will be important, as will the ability to work proactively and autonomously within the Hub region to seek out and strategically develop opportunities. However, the post holder must also be a strong team player, working with the wider Hub team and BEIS Local Net Zero team to maximise the benefits of Net Zero for the Hub region.

North East and Yorkshire (NEY) Net Zero Hub
The North East and Yorkshire Net Zero Hub is at the centre of the region’s ambitious efforts to drive a low-carbon, clean-growth future.

Funded by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS), the Hub is one of five across the country, all focusing on helping the UK reach Net-Zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Our Hub combines six Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) in the region, bringing local authorities, businesses, organisations and communities together to help us achieve our goals through various programmes of work and capacity support for Local Authorities.

A Net Zero Hub Manager and small core team are based in Tees Valley Combined Authority with a Hub funded Energy Project Manager based in each of our six LEP areas. The LEPs are driving the transition to a zero carbon economy with ambitious energy strategy and innovative project delivery.

If you are as passionate about the net zero agenda as we are and can add your skills to our dedicated team we’d love to hear from you.

Please note, you should hear from us within four weeks of the closing date if you are shortlisted for interview, otherwise you should assume that your application has been unsuccessful.
