ROLE OF THE JOB
The Integrated Wellbeing Service is part of the Northumberland Public Health Team based within the Public Health, Stronger Communities and Inequalities directorate. The Integrated Wellbeing Service comprises 36 members of staff working within Health Improvement, Specialist Stop Smoking and Health Trainer teams who are responsible for delivering services and influencing parts of the system to improve the health of our residents in Northumberland.

We are seeking to recruit a Stop Smoking Practitioner to join the Specialist Stop Smoking Service 22.5 hours per week working over 3 days.

The post holder will work autonomously as a stop smoking practitioner, working alongside other key health improvement staff and wider partners to deliver targeted smoking cessation programmes of care and education to clients in local communities across Northumberland. Working in partnership to support the broader tobacco control agenda across the Northumberland footprint, with flexibility to the needs of the service.

The post will

· Contribute to, and advises on, the development and implementation of local community health improvement programmes.

· Facilitate team working and collaboration by working with other partner organisations.

· Develops and maintains public health information and support structures.

· Facilitate and provides evidence-based training courses for smoking cessation via the Integrated Wellbeing Service training programme.

· Ensures methods of monitoring, evaluating, and reporting across all areas of work.

We are offering:
- A starting salary of £18,912 - £21,115 (Band 7)

REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
· Degree in relevant subject or equivalent qualification or experience e.g., registered nurse, public health, health improvement, community development.

· Knowledge of public health/health improvement acquired through relevant training, extended courses and experience to degree level equivalent.

· Specialist knowledge across a range of smoking cessation and tobacco control procedures underpinned by theory.

· Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools.

· Must be able to meet the transport requirements of the service across the Northumberland footprint.
