The Housing & A Fairer Stockton-on-Tees service are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative, and self-motivated individual to join the Selective Licensing team to help regulate management practices and tackle anti-social behaviour and environmental crime associated with particular areas of the borough that have been designated for selective licensing.
 
The team are committed to protecting residents within our area, ensuring everyone can live in a safe environment. We take a twin track approach, working positively with those who take their responsibilities seriously, whilst taking the strongest possible action against those who neglect their responsibilities, making full and appropriate use of legislation to achieve this goal.
 
The emphasis in this role is to investigate reports of anti-social behaviour, environmental crime and community safety issues associated with licensed properties within the private rented sector..
 
Ideally applicants should be able to demonstrate:
 
- Experience of working directly or closely related field dealing with anti-social behaviour and nuisance complaints within an enforcement and/or licensing environment.
- An awareness of the legislation, regulations, and codes of practice relevant to taking enforcement action in relation to anti-social behaviour and environmental crime.
- Practical and procedural knowledge of investigative and/or enforcement work.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to communicate orally and in writing with a range of people.
 
Knowledge of tenancies along with tenant and landlord relations is also desirable but not essential.
 
 There are 2 Fixed Term Posts available. We have 1 Fixed Term Post for 48 months until 31st October 2028, and 1 Fixed Term Post for 54 months until 31st March 2029.
