Temporary post until 30 September 2024.

This fantastic role is to lead on delivery of the pioneering and inspiring Tyne to Tees Shores and Seas Landscape Partnership Scheme (known as SeaScapes) by co-ordinating the remainder of a four year programme of 23 heritage focussed projects by managing a delivery team of six staff and implementing initiatives that ensure SeaScapes legacy, writing the next chapter for this heritage rich, but underappreciated area.

SeaScapes is a National Lottery Heritage Fund supported scheme, with NLHF contributing £2.7 million towards a total project budget of £4.8 million.

Durham County Council is managing the SeaScapes Partnership Scheme on behalf of the wider partnership.

The successful candidate will have a degree in a relevant discipline and excellent project management, communication and funding programme skills. A background in heritage related activities is preferred.

The postholder will ensure the successful management and delivery of the Scheme on time and on budget and ensuring the Scheme meets the terms of the Council’s contract with the Heritage Fund (NLHF) and other funding partners.

The Programme Manager will lead and manage a Delivery Team (some hosted by partners), managing and mentoring staff to effectively to deliver the Landscape Conservation Action Plan.

Extensive regular travel around the SeaScapes area will be required to ensure that communities throughout the area are fully involved in the Scheme.

Interviews will be held on a date to be confirmed in January 2023. A short presentation will form part of the interview process.
