We are currently seeking Residential Support Workers to join our Children’s Services team! Working within our Children with Disabilities home. You will be a role model and mentor and play a key part in the support system for children who have experienced significant trauma. You'll play a vital role in helping them build healthy relationships and discover the benefits of education. It's tough, it's challenging but it's incredibly rewarding.
We will look to you to plan and provide child-centred cultural, physical, play and recreational activities. Think creatively about and contribute to effective care planning. Provide appropriate therapeutic relationships with the children and develop your understanding of therapeutic childcare practice. You will monitor the care and treatment of your assigned children within the household. We work to a flexible working rota 365 days of the year including long days, sleep shifts, waking nights. We'll care for you too You're not just part of a team, your part of our family. As part of your role, you’ll have the opportunity to complete a fully accredited and funded Diploma for residential care level3/4.
About you we're looking for someone who embodies resilience, empathy, and a deep commitment to making a positive impact. Someone who can believe in the untapped potential of these children when others have given up. Drawing on your life experiences, you can provide valuable guidance and support to help them thrive. You'll also need staff to have a willingness to work towards or hold the recognised NVQ 4 or QCF diploma in working with children and young people in Residential care, or equivalent relevant Children’s Residential work.
Staff have a willingness to complete or to hold:
Recognised HSC 375 medication or equivalent or desire to undertake further education / training
Training or qualifications that demonstrate a clear ability to communicate effectively and think critically
A valid and full UK driving licence
