The Role

We’re seeking an experienced Recruitment Business Partner to join the Recruitment team in a role that will have a significant impact on transforming Gateshead Council's approach to the whole end to end process, from attraction to onboarding. In this strategic position, you’ll partner with hiring managers to deliver a modern, candidate-centric recruitment experience that attracts top talent, strengthens talent pipelines, and supports the council's goals.

Key Responsibilities

Drive the implementation of a comprehensive attraction and recruitment strategy to meet the Council's evolving talent needs and goals.
Collaborate closely with hiring managers to forecast and plan for recruitment requirements.
Provide guidance and support on best practices in areas such as job design, candidate assessment, and hiring decisions.
Build the capability of our recruiting managers through coaching and training to enhance quality of hires and employee retention.
Develop innovative sourcing and attraction approaches tailored to the needs of each role.
Champion a seamless candidate experience by proactively managing the recruitment process and providing regular updates.
Leverage data and analytics to monitor key recruitment metrics like time-to-hire and quality-of-hire, continuously improving the hiring process.

Be an ambassador of the Gateshead brand, ensuring that all activity supports and promotes Gateshead Council.

 

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a Recruitment Business Partner or similar role in a fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of the full recruitment life cycle, from sourcing to onboarding.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple recruitment projects simultaneously.
Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations related to hiring.
Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and other recruitment technology.
Proactive and results-driven mindset, with a focus on delivering high-quality talent.
Experience of implementing change, new ways of working, systems and processes.
Relevant HR or recruitment qualification or equivalent experience.
