An exciting opportunity has arisen for three Public Health Practitioners to join the public health team in South Tyneside. The public health team is committed to delivering improvements in health outcomes and reducing health inequalities for people of South Tyneside.
The post holders will:
• Make a significant difference to the health and wellbeing of people in South Tyneside.
• Lead a range of public health programmes and provide evidenced-based public health advice, expertise and support to partners and stakeholders.
This post holder will support and help develop programmes and initiatives that will deliver outcomes around the South Tyneside Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy, Director of Public Health report and the public health work plan.
Post 1: Physical Activity, Healthy Weight and Oral Health
Post 1 will have the focus on physical activity, Healthy Weight and oral health to lead the strategic priorities, to support partnership working and to oversee key programmes and interventions. The post will work across the system to engage with all key partners and stakeholders.
Post 2: Place Shaping
Post 2 will have a place shaping focus working closely with our economic regeneration colleagues across the Council, and with key stakeholders to embed health and wellbeing into any planning and redevelopment of the local area. This post will be involved the Local Plan, health impact assessments of future and current developments.
Post 3: Covid- 19 Support
Fixed Term post for 12 months
Post 3 will have a key role in ensuring the implementation of the Councils Covid-19 Outbreak Management Plan. The postholder will be responsible for the day to day management of the track and trace local programme and supporting local testing.
As the Public Health team are also responding to COVID-19 postholders may be asked to pick up some COVID-19 related work.
You will need a good level of knowledge and skills about health inequalities and health improvement as well as being motivated, flexible and enthusiastic about making a difference in South Tyneside.
