We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Public Health professional to join our Public Health team in Darlington as a Public Health Portfolio Lead addressing the Public Mental Health and Aging Well agendas in Darlington. In this pivotal role, you will support the Director of Public Health to ensure broad participation in the public health agenda around Mental Health Improvement and Ageing Well by forging partnerships and influencing key stakeholders. 

Your efforts will be crucial in reducing health inequalities and improving the health and wellbeing of all communities in Darlington.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and lead the public health programmes for Mental Health Improvement and Ageing Well 
  • Forge and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders to promote public health initiatives.
  • Provide specialist public health support and advice to commissioners, providers, third sector, and independent sector organisations.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce health inequalities and improve health outcomes for diverse communities.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of public health programmes and initiatives.

  • Proven experience in public health or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective partnerships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Commitment to reducing health inequalities and improving community health and wellbeing.
