An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, innovative and self-motivated individual to join the Private Sector Housing team
We are looking for a confident and independent person with an understanding of empty homes issues, who can use their skills and experience to work with a small team to deal with the issues around empty homes. In the first instance you will have particular responsibility for establishing links with owners of such properties, seeking innovative and creative solutions to deal with empty homes and bring them back in to use in accordance with Council Policy and Strategy. In addition you will have responsibility for working with owners and external agencies to ensure the securing of empty homes against unauthorised access.
For this post you will need to have a flexible attitude, be a confident communicator and negotiator and be willing to work both as part of a team and independently.
You will also need a sound knowledge of house-construction and building practice.
Knowledge of the legislation associated with empty homes and enforcement practices would be advantageous but is not essential.
