The post on offer is based at the centre of the council in the Adults and Communities Directorate.
The Council is looking to improve its support arrangements for Redcar & Cleveland’s three PFI contracts, one covering an administration PFI contract covering 3 buildings, one covering 5 schools and streetlighting and also providing day-to-day management and administration on a 4th PFI contract in partnership with Darlington Borough Council covering 4 schools over 2 sites. As such we are looking to recruit an energetic, creative Apprentice Contract Monitoring Officer who will be instrumental in providing support across these PFI Contracts.
You will need good communications skills, commitment and reliability working in a small team supporting the day to day and long-term strategies.
“PFI” Private Funding Initiative represents the council purchasing buildings and services from the private sector over a predetermined duration. Generally contracts are 25 years, the nature of our work is largely administrative but includes regular facilities inspections and quality control. The team have strong experience in all disciplines needed to oversee these high value projects. RCBC are seeking a “business support apprentice” and the ideal candidate will have an open and flexible approach to learning the various elements that make up contract management. The role offers an exciting opportunity to develop business skills that are widely transferable.
The role will include:
• Full training and support to meet the needs below, this will include working from a variety of locations.
We currently and will continue to operate a blended approach which includes working from home – office time and site visits. Access to private or public transport would be beneficial.
• Supporting the PFI team in managing the Councils PFI Contracts ensuring that the PFI contractors meet their contractual obligations in the maintenance and improvement of the properties that they manage and maintain on behalf the Councils.
• Provide Admin and data support to the management of the contracts. This includes soft copy minute taking, reviewing helpdesk performance reports, procurement and document housekeeping.
• On an ongoing basis to monitor and analyse performance information produced by the contracts, the SPV/SPCs and FM Contractors. This also includes quality & compliance audits undertaken on a regular basis, i.e. monthly, to ensure the data from Helpdesks etc is timely, accurate, up to date and relevant.
