Newcastle City Council (City Transport) are seeking an experienced time served motor vehicle technician to take up a permanent position. The successful candidate would primarily join the team in our Light Goods vehicle workshop at Newington Rd.

City Transport maintains & repairs a diverse range of vehicles, plant, & horticultural equipment as well as having two MOT stations, testing class 4,5 & 7 vehicles & Licenced Taxis & hackney carriages.

The successful candidate will have the skills & experience to achieve the effective & efficient maintenance, diagnostics, & repair of the council’s Light Goods Vehicle fleet.

They will have served a recognised apprenticeship in motor vehicle engineering to NVQ level 3 or equivalent & hold a valid MOT tester qualification. A category B driving licence is essential with categories D1 & C LGV licence being advantageous.
