Local Safeguarding Children's Board (LSCB) Administrative Assistant

Working in close collaboration with all partner agencies and reporting to the LSCB Business Manager your role will be fundamental to the effective operation of the established group of Durham LSCB officers.

The successful applicant will assist the LSCB Admin Co-ordinator and the team of LSCB officers, to ensure that the Board operates effectively and supported to deliver its agreed objectives. The main duties are;

• To provide administration support to the LSCB including dealing with correspondence relating to Child Deaths, Child Protection, training applications.
• Supporting the training coordinator to ensure practical arrangements for the delivery of LSCBs courses are effective.
• Manage the application and allocation of training courses and maintain an accurate database.
• To deputise for the Admin Co-ordinator when required. This may include involvement in the Child Death Review and Serious Case Review process.
• Establish, develop and maintain office and administrative systems for the LSCB including electronic filing and maintenance of various registers e.g. Missing Persons, At Risk to Children, children moving into Durham on a temp. Basis subject to Child protection plan.
• Working with the LSCB Co-ordinator and the team of LSCB officers to ensure the Board operates effectively and is supported to deliver its agreed objectives within timescale.

Required Qualifications: BTEC National in Public Admin or NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.
