We’re currently looking for a Housing Plus Officer to join our team on a part time contract and help us deliver exciting new changes across our organisation.

The Benefits:

• Salary of £24,496 to £26,847 per annum for full-time hours
• Local Government Pension Scheme

• Reduced cost public transport tickets for travel around Tyne and Wear

The Role:

An opportunity has arisen to join the Housing and Area Management team delivering older persons housing services to the Council’s tenants.

The Housing Plus service delivers supported housing to older people. Our challenge is to deliver services that older people want both now and into the future whilst promoting an active older age for South Tyneside residents. Our Housing Plus Officers play a key role in this and work as part of a large team delivering support to residents in Housing Plus schemes across the Borough.

The person we are looking for will be a team player who is enthusiastic and passionate about delivering excellent customer service to older people. This position will not be specific to a particular scheme therefore you must be flexible, able to drive and have access to a vehicle for work use and be prepared to work from various locations. We provide our critical services 365 days of the year & therefore there is an expectation you will contribute to this rota (additional pay received).

If you are interested in what you have read and meet our criteria, we would love to hear from you.

About You:

We are looking to recruit someone who loves a challenge to join our busy but rewarding team. If you think you can make a difference to the lives of our older tenants and enjoy working using your own initiative, we would be delighted to hear from you. If you would like to make a difference every day but have other commitments and would like the flexibility of a less than full time role, get in touch as this could be the job you are looking for. Please note – we have critical business hours for service delivery within the working week and we would expect the postholder to work their hours in an agreed pattern over 4 or 5 days but do please contact us for an informal discussion if you would like further information about this aspect of the role.

This post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to be carried out of which you must complete if you are appointed to the role.
