The Trustees of the Eden Academy Trust are seeking to appoint a new Headteacher for Hexham Priory School from September 2022 to lead and further develop this exceptional school.

Hexham Priory School is a member of the Eden Academy Trust, a family of special schools for children and young people with a range of learning disabilities.

Hexham Priory School is designated for pupils aged 2 to 19 years with a range of learning disabilities including those who are autistic and those who have physical or sensory needs. The school currently has 120 pupils on roll. The school has spacious, purpose-built, specialist classrooms. Based in the beautiful historic market town of Hexham, the school serves a rural catchment covering over one thousand square miles of West Northumberland.

In March 2018 the school was graded as Outstanding by OFSTED.

We are looking for a Leader with the skills, confidence and experience to be part of the Eden Academy Trust family of schools. This position offers a significant opportunity to play a leading role in a multi-academy trust going through a period of dynamic and exciting change. The new Headteacher will receive substantial support and work closely with the Regional Director of Schools (North) and have further opportunities to work alongside the other special schools within the Trust.
