The Role
Tees Valley Combined Authority is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Performance, Risk, and Assurance. This role is crucial in driving our strategic objectives and ensuring robust performance and risk management across the Group.

Tees Valley Combined Authority - About us
Tees Valley is made up of the five unique boroughs to create one remarkable region. This is Tees Valley – where anything is possible.

Comprised of the local authority areas of Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees, it includes from Teesside Airport in the west to Teesworks in the east, and covers everything in between. It’s an area where the beauty of the countryside meets the serenity of the coast – an area united by a history of industry and innovation passed down from generation to generation.

Tees Valley Combined Authority has made huge progress since its creation seven years ago, taking on devolved responsibilities from Government. We are now driving forward the redevelopment of our transport network; revitalising training and education; boosting our businesses; championing culture, tourism, and supporting our boroughs in improving our towns and communities.

These powers are backed up by substantial funding, with a ten-year Investment Plan outlining how £588million of spending will support the creation of 16,785 jobs and an additional £1.48billion to the area’s economic output and help the delivery of our Strategic Economic Plan.

The Combined Authority’s Group structure has on responsibility for Teesside International Airport and Teesworks – the UK’s largest industrial zone and heart of the Teesside Freeport – to cement our potential for global investment and regeneration and push boundaries like never before.

As well as these assets, we boast experienced rail and engineering industries, a deep-sea port and advanced manufacturing heart. Tees Valley is also a dynamic business location for digital and creative technologies, and a leading destination for process industry and new, innovative energy companies.

Recent developments, such as securing Freeport status for sites in every borough, the news that a number of central Government departments will be relocating to our area including HM Treasury and recent investments in cutting-edge clean energy and offshore projects, shows just how we are punching above our weight right now.

Grit, determination and transformation form part of our DNA. If you want to play a vital part in delivering the change you want to see across the region, helping to improve our area for generations to come, we would like to hear from you.
