We now have a fantastic opportunity to appoint an innovative and forward-thinking leader to help drive our exciting agenda forward. The role reports to our Corporate Director, Regeneration, Economy and Growth, and will be a key member of the senior management team of the directorate, helping us to deliver what our economy needs, delivering more and better jobs in an inclusive, green, economy.

You will lead the management and development of an innovative, driven, modern and strategic service ensuring the delivery of the Councils Inclusive Economic Strategy, focusing in on inward investment, skills, and support to businesses, which will enable growth, social value, and inclusion. The role is externally facing playing a key role in our devolution agenda and local partnerships. We are looking for someone to quickly understand the County Durham context, working with a variety of partners, including the exciting, new, North-East Combined Authority, in a high-profile leadership role. You will need imagination and people skills to lead your own and other teams through the development and promotion of our vision and the strategy.
