WHAT IS INVOLVED?
A number of posts are available covering a wide range of environmental health functions including Environment Protection, Food, Health and Safety, Public Health ,  Statutory Nuisance and Housing.

WHAT WILL I NEED? 

Senior Environmental Health Officer Grade 12

Successful candidates will hold a relevant Environmental Health qualification and a Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Registration Board as well as have experience in providing advice and guidance on regulatory and enforcement issues, knowledge of legal processes and effective regulatory practices.
 
Public Protection Officer/ Senior Public Protection Officer/ Principal Public Protection Officer - Career graded posts - Scale 8 to 12  subject to qualifications and experience.
 
We value and support the development of trainee EHPs and new graduates and applications are also invited from new graduates or trainees undertaking their final year of study who will be supported on a professional career pathway to full qualification as an EHP.

The Community Protection Service has introduced a bespoke Competency Framework to assist with staff development and is designed to facilitate staff development and retention. HYBRID WORKING 
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
