Durham Johnston is an oversubscribed and popular 11-18 comprehensive school in Durham City. We are looking for an outstanding deputy head to join our inclusive and hard-working school community.

As a senior leader in school you will be passionate about teaching, and how to increase the life chances of every student. You will have a portfolio of experience which demonstrates how you have led and implemented plans which resulted in significant improvements in outcomes for students, both academic and pastoral. We are looking to appoint the right person to this role and as such your final job description will be open to some negotiation depending on interest and experience, although a focus on student achievement, and linked processes and protocols is likely. We are seeking the best person for the Johnston, and as a reflective and intellectually able practitioner, you will be able to fulfil a variety of roles within school.

If you believe that you have the commitment and desire to work in a high octane environment which focuses on academic excellence, social justice and a desire to prepare students to compete with the very best nationally and globally, I invite you to apply.
