John Spence Community High School is an ‘Outstanding‘ school (Ofsted, October 2011). We are a very successful Sports College with a growing reputation.

Due to internal restructuring of the SLT we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed curriculum leader for English to teach across the subject and lead the department. This new post will provide an opportunity to manage and lead a very successful and well established department through a time of curriculum change. This is a full time permanent appointment.

This is an exciting time to be joining John Spence Community High School as we have recently moved into a brand new school with state of the art facilities.

John Spence Community High School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As such an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure will be sought along with other relevant checks deemed appropriate.

An application form and accompanying letter should be completed and returned no later than Monday 3 April 2017. Further details of the school and the post can be obtained from the Headteacher, Mr Stephenson at the contact details below or from the school website, www.johnspence.org.uk as can a copy of the application form.
