North Tyneside Council Housing is seeking an ambitious, professional, compassionate and enthusiastic individual to serve their Armed Forces Community.

The successful applicant will work with those leaving the forces, veterans and serving reservists you will provide initial advice and signposting to other services around housing, welfare benefits, employment, health and any other matters that may arise.

It is essential for you to demonstrate that you have knowledge of current issues facing veterans and the Armed Forces Community as well as knowledge of the re-settlement process in order to apply for this post.

This post is 37 hours per week, fixed term for 24 months.

If successful you will be required to spend time researching support available to the Armed Forces Community and how the authority and other partners are able to assist the Armed Forces Community in North Tyneside.

The successful applicant will support the Lead Cabinet Member for the Armed Forces Community and represent the authority on outside bodies.

Excellent networking and effective communication skills are also essential for this post as you will be working closely with the authority’s partners and external agencies. Furthermore it is vital that you can demonstrate that you have excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to empathise and help others and can demonstrate competence to work on your own initiative.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975, and a Standard DBS disclosure will be required.
