We are looking for an individual who has the ability to negotiate and build relationships with farmers, land managers and organisations in the South Tyne catchment of the North Pennines National Landscape, to enable them to support nature recovery, improve water quality and reduce flood risk through Natural Flood Management.

This post is temporary until 31 March 2025.

WHAT IS INVOLVED?
You will support the delivery of the Farming in Protected Landscapes (FiPL) programme in the South Tyne catchment on behalf of the North Pennines National Landscape Partnership. The role is funded by Northumbrian Water Ltd.

You will lead on conservation, land management advice and guidance, to promote high quality applications to the programme.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need a HND or equivalent and have experience of successful working with farmers and land managers to achieve conservation objectives.

You will have practical experience of upland habitats – assessment, survey, restoration and management.

HYBRID WORKING
Durham County Council currently operates a hybrid working policy where a model of 2 days in the workplace and 3 days at home/remote will apply. This model is pro-rated for part time roles and arrangements are at managers discretion, alternatively you can work all of your contracted hours within the workplace if you prefer.
