Hartlepool Art Gallery is seeking to recruit casual members of staff to assist in the day to day operations of the gallery.
Reporting to the Senior Gallery Operations Officer the postholders will provide excellent customer service, invigilation, retail and housekeeping support on a casual basis.
Hartlepool Art Gallery operates the box office on behalf of the Town Hall Theatre and Borough Hall, staff will have the opportunity to support this key function in this role by answering enquiries and completing bookings.
The Gallery prides itself in supporting local and regional artists, makers and crafters and the postholders will support this by maintaining the standards of merchandise displays, pricing and stock control in our much loved shop.
Additionally the gallery has a busy public programme and the postholders will support the team in setting up for regular classes and events whilst maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation on a day to day basis.
Postholders can expect to be supporting in familiarizing themselves with the gallery systems, procedures and software by the wider team.
This role would appeal to individuals looking to gain experience of working in a gallery or cultural setting, or those looking to gain experience of a retail and customer service environment.
We anticipate appointing x 4 casual gallery assistants and postholders may be offered shifts during normal gallery opening hours, evenings and weekends as per business needs.
