Operations Manager Fostering and Adoption.

The Looked After Children and Permanence service is highly ambitious and constantly striving to develop services in order to promote the best outcomes for the children and young people we look after in County Durham. It is an exciting time to be joining the Fostering and Adoption Service. By building on successes to date and taking a lead role in key strategic and service developments which are integral to the priorities set by the Council, you will be joining a forward thinking, innovative and well led management team. If successful you will need to demonstrate how you will take the service forward to meet the future challenges whilst maintaining high quality service delivery.

You will need to be a qualified and experienced social worker and will require substantial management experience in statutory Children’s Services. We have well established and strong partnership arrangements and you will be required to work alongside elected members who are fully engaged in the scrutiny and delivery of our services to looked after children, their carers and care leavers.

Within the portfolio you will also be responsible for our therapeutic service for looked after children and young people which was highlighted in our recent Ofsted inspection as an excellent example of innovative practice.

This is an exciting post and excellent opportunity to join a service which is fully committed to the needs of children and young people and to foster carers and adopters to ensure they receive the best possible support to achieve their optimum outcomes and life chances.
