We are looking to appoint a Business Manager (Adults) to join our recently integrated Northumberland Children and Adults Safeguarding Partnership (NCASP), a multi-agency partnership which brings together agencies who work to safeguard and promote the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk across Northumberland.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence and inform the development of the newly formed partnership and support a ‘think family’ approach and stronger culture of working together to keep children, young people, and adults at risk safe. The post holder will work closely with the Children’s Business Manager and Independent Scrutineer to ensure the effectiveness of safeguarding practice in Northumberland.

Key to this role, is building effective partnerships with key stakeholders for safeguarding across Northumberland to support the Partnership to meet its statutory role and the aim and objectives set out in the strategic plan.

You will have a good knowledge of the Care Act 2014, the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Safeguarding Adult Policies and Procedures. You will oversee Safeguarding Adult Reviews, analyse performance and practice development, and have a role in relation to policies,
procedures, communication materials and ensuring that making safeguarding personal is central to all safeguarding activity.

This is a highly influential role in helping to ensure we achieve the best outcomes for adults at risk. As Business Manager, you will have the vision, leadership, and drive to meet the challenges of the role, the ability to work successfully with key partners and senior management, and champion the voices of the child and the adult. The Business Manager role includes managing and coordinating the strategic development of the partnership and leading on Board programmes of work in relation to safeguarding the welfare of children and adults at risk.

This position is full time (37 hours) and permanent.
Band 11 salary - starting from £51,174 rising to £54,611

The successful candidate will have:
- Significant knowledge and experience in relation to adult safeguarding, and a commitment to a ‘think family’ and life course approach to safeguarding.
- A robust understanding of multi-agency safeguarding partnership arrangements, legislation, and statutory responsibilities for safeguarding.
- Demonstrable experience of effective partnership and inter-agency work, and an ability to influence and develop positive relationships, and drive continuous safeguarding improvement
- Experience of managing and coordinating complex projects and work programmes, setting clear priorities, outcomes and standards, and managing resources and timescales effectively.
