Further Information
We are recruiting a Best Interest Assessor to our Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards team as a primary BIA. This is a great opportunity to join a small, friendly team whose focus is on undertaking BIA assessments in a thorough and timely manner in order to promote the rights and wellbeing of those we work with. We work innovatively to promote central themes of human rights based practice with an excellent understanding and application of the Mental Capacity Act throughout.

We offer excellent terms of service including hybrid working arrangements, a generous annual leave allowance and options for flexible working (where appropriate).

By working for Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council you will also have opportunities to progress your career by specialising in particular areas of practice, such as older people or learning disabilities, and with additional qualifications such as practice educator and AMHP. All primary BIA’s will be prioritised for AMCP conversion under LPS.

Please ensure you refer to the essential and desirable criteria detailed in the Person Specification when completing your application as they are used to select candidates for interview.

If you would like further information about the posts please contact the DoLS team manager Lucy Allison on 01642 444 375.

The council holds ambassador status for the North East Better Health at Work Award.

The authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children/young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and an enhanced disclosure & barring service check (DBS) will be sought.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council are dedicated to addressing the global climate emergency and have committed to being a net zero carbon borough by 2030
