An opportunity has opened for a Team Manager to join Newcastle City Council Children’s Social Care Services.
We are looking for someone with strong skills, patience and focus to manage a team of social work staff. This role will include work allocation, performance monitoring, dealing with staffing issues and the training and development of a Team within the West Service.
You will be required to have the determination and commitment to create a brighter future for children, young people and families within Newcastle.
With relevant experience working in Children’s Social Care you will be familiar with child protection systems and processes, court work and working with children who are looked after. You should also have knowledge of statutory requirements and local procedures.
As a member of a team managers group, you will play an important role in delivering a needs led professional service ensuring that vulnerable children and their families benefit from the best possible safeguarding and protection.
You must hold a relevant Social Work qualification such as the Social Work Degree, DipSW, CQSW or CSS and be registered with the HCPC. You should also have a minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience and a track record of effective leadership, development and motivation of staff.
