A special needs school in South Shields is currently looking to appoint a Key Stage 3/4 Humanities Teacher to support children with a wide range of Special Education Needs. The role is on a full time basis to begin in January 2017 for the duration of the academic year.
The starting points for most pupils in school are much lower than the national averages, and their achievements at the school are good. The behaviour of pupils within school is good and often outstanding. On their journey through the school, the personal developments of some are outstanding.
The successful candidate will provide support for children and young people with medical, physical, social, emotional and moderate learning difficulties. You must demonstrate a commitment to providing a high quality service, to enable children and young people to develop skills and reach their potential educationally and socially.
You must have a positive can do attitude and commitment to enabling children and young people to participate fully in all aspects of mainstream school life. Experience in working with PMLD pupils is essential.
To apply for this role it is essential that you:
Are a qualified teacher that holds QTS
Have experience of teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs - PMLD
Can demonstrate a positive impact on pupil development
Are pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable
Are eligible to work in the UK
Hold 6 months experience teaching within a UK classroom
