Teacher of Environmental Science/Horticulture
MPS/UPS + 2 SEN points (additional paid residential duties may be available)

Following the expansion of our school, we are seeking to appoint a high quality, fully qualified teacher to join our team. This is a newly created post. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, organisation and delivery of the Environmental Science/Horticulture curriculum across the school; they will also contribute to the culture programme and cross curricular working practice. The successful candidate may also teach some Science lessons and the curriculum will be expected to complement the existing Science curriculum delivered by the serving Science teacher. Teachers at the school are encouraged to be involved in the provision of activities in our extended day/residential programme (this is not compulsory and is negotiated individually but is paid).
NQTs are welcome to apply.

Elemore Hall is a well established and thriving Durham LA maintained, residential and day special school that has recently expanded to meet the needs of up to 86 secondary aged pupils who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Many of our pupils have additional general or specific learning difficulties.
The school is committed to providing academic, social and residential education of the highest quality in partnership with pupils, governors, parents, carers, the LA, health and other agencies. Due to our exceptional location, learning outside the classroom is a central feature of our provision. Elemore Hall is situated in the centre of a forty acre site that has a variety of habitats and ecosystems. The successful candidate would be expected to make full use of our outstanding setting to provide a curriculum that would lead to qualifications such as BTec First in Countryside and Environment or Horticulture and the John Muir Award.

There is so much to say about the school and the vacancy that potential candidates are strongly encouraged to visit the school or telephone the Headteacher for further information. All applications must be made on the standard application form, this, along with further details about the school and the post, is obtainable by contacting the school on 0191 372 0275 or from the school website www.elemorehallschool.com
Completed forms should be returned to the school.
