Health visiting services since the 1st April 2016 have been provided by Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, this is an exciting time for services and we are delighted to be able to offer two places for Health Visitor Students commencing in September 2017
We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic 1st level registered nurses/midwives to undertake the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing – Health Visiting Pathway. You will need to have a minimum of 120 academic credits at level 5, diploma or equivalent and have a proven record of Continuous Professional Development. The academic study will be in conjunction with the University of Teesside
You will be given a fixed term contract for the duration of the course, starting in September 2017 and finishing end of August 2018. Holidays to be taken as per programme specification.
You will be aiming towards promoting and improving the health and wellbeing of Children, Individuals and Families within a defined population, employing various methods to achieve this aim, such as working with separate family units, undertaking routine health needs assessments with clients and working in partnership, implement appropriate individual programmes of care, undertake more intensive work with families with specific and complex health and social needs and working to address the health needs of the larger community.
You must be self-motivated, have highly developed communication skills and a have a positive approach. Car owner/driver is essential.

Contract of employment for this post will be with Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, candidates who are currently members of the NHS pension scheme will be able to continue with these arrangements. Employment as a Health Visitor is not guaranteed at the end of the course however should posts be available for candidates to apply for the salary will be a LGA Salary Scale G, starting salary in the region of £30, 153 pro rata per annum
