Salary - £28,485 - £36,379 (Depending on experience)

There are two Looked After/Permanence team comprising of two Team Managers and two Assistant Team Managers, 11 Social Workers and 2 Child and Family Workers.

The Looked After /Permanence team offer a range of support to looked after children and have a primary aim to provide high quality permanence plans for our looked after children which ensures that if children /young people cannot live with their own family they will have the best chance of an alternative permanent family home/ placement that will care for them until adulthood and beyond.

The teams are enthusiastic and passionate about their work. They have close working relationships with colleagues and in particular with the fostering and adoption workers. There are effective partnerships in place with health and education colleagues and we have an active and involved change council. This is an exciting time to be joining the team and we are actively seeking to recruit an experienced Team Manager with a knowledge of the importance of timely permanence planning for children to join us as Together for Children moves forward.

Together for Children is a newly established Company in Sunderland which works on behalf of the Council to deliver children’s services in the city including social care, early help and education

We are looking for skilled and experienced Social Workers who have the passion and drive to ensure that children and young people in Sunderland achieve the best outcomes and receive high quality services.

Over the last 12 months there has been sustained and significant improvement in the quality of services delivered to children young people and their families. Improvement is being rigorously monitored through a multi-agency board and we consult with staff regarding the developments and change that effect front line practice.

Please note all applicants must have successfully completed Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
