Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council are seeking to recruit two full time permanent Social Workers and one twelve month fixed term contact.

We are a supportive team made up of both Social Workers and Social Care Officers and we have a wide knowledge of expertise which we are keen to share with new team members.

There is opportunity for career progression to Level H and we would welcome any interest from both newly qualified and experienced Social Workers.
We offer the ASYE programme and have had great success with staff who have been supported through this.

We are also happy to consider applications from those waiting for qualification results. The East Locality Team work with adults over the age of 18 with varying needs, therefore, we can offer diverse working experiences and opportunities within a very supportive team setting.

This post is also subject to the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearances to ensure the Council is compliant with the Government’s requirements for Public Sector Network (PSN) Compliance. The criteria for a BPSS clearance includes applicants being required to satisfy the following the eligibility conditions of nationality/right to work and providing appropriate documentation to enable the Council to verify the identity of the applicant, their employment and/or academic history, and passing a criminal record (unspent convictions) check.

As per its Pay Policy Statement published under section 38, Localism Act 2011, in the absence of any exceptional circumstances which render it necessary in the best interests of the authority to do so, the Council will generally not re-engage any individual whom has previously been employed by the Council and left that employment with the benefit of a severance, early retirement or redundancy payment.
