THE FULL CIRCLE SOCIAL WORKER - FULL TIME

The Full Circle is Durham’s in-house integrated children’s mental health service working with children who have experienced trauma as a result of abuse or neglect. Durham has an excellent record for delivering high quality children’s therapeutic services. Last year’s Ofsted inspection reported “The Full Circle service provides swift, effective support for the emotional and mental health needs of children looked after….timely and comprehensive range of therapeutic techniques to support children and families”.

The team has a vacancy for a dynamic, well organised and reflective social worker with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The post holder will work with children who have experienced trauma via abuse or neglect and contribute to achieving better outcomes for Looked After children and children in need, including adopted children.

The Full Circle have an important role in preparing children for permanence via fostering and adoption, supporting placement stability, undertaking individual therapeutic work with children, providing attachment training and consulting with others regarding the impact of trauma and abuse.

The post holder will be part of the care planning process and work with social work colleagues and other professionals across County Durham. The ideal candidate will be a post progression social worker with a good understanding of child development and relevant therapeutic experience, however, we are also interested in hearing from more recently qualified candidates who have substantial pre-qualification experience and can demonstrate exceptional potential.

Essential Qualifications:
Degree in social work or equivalent ie CQSW, CSS or Dip.SW
HCPC Registration.
Commitment towards achievement of the Post Qualification Award within the designated timescales of 12-18 months following appointment to post.

The successful applicant for this post will be required to apply for a Disclosure and Barring Service Enhanced Disclosure.

Young Peoples Panel - Week Commencing 22nd May 2017.
Formal Interviews Thursday 25th May 2017.
