A special school in North Tyneside has a current vacancy for experienced SEND Support Assistants to work with both Primary and Secondary aged pupils. The role has arisen due to a recent increase in pupil numbers.

As the school are looking for a large number of temporary staff to work with them throughout the academic year, there are roles are available for a range of full and part time hours, meaning we are able to provide you with a position that suits your lifestyle. For those interested in longer term positions, we will be happy to discuss potential roles. This is also an excellent opportunity if you are seeking permanent employment as introductions to new schools often leads to future positions.

A dedicated school for young people aged two to nineteen with severe learning difficulties and profound and multiple learning difficulties, they meet the needs of a range of young people in a variety of different ways including a sensory support service for children with hearing and visual impairment.
Some of the aims of the school are to develop lifelong learning, widen aspirations, empower families, maximise independence, nurture values of respect and friendship and extend creativity.
To be successful in the role you will have gained experience with pupils who may be on the Autistic Spectrum or who have profound and multiple leaning difficulties.

In addition you will:

• Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in childcare
• Have a minimum of 6 months recent experience
• Be committed to making a real difference to the lives of pupils
• Be able to work independently, using your initiative
• Take direction to adapt and meet the needs of the team
• Be pro-active, enthusiastic, energetic and reliable
