Would you relish the opportunity to manage a fully refurbished young people’s home for 13 to 17 year olds with emotional and behavioural difficulties, and lead the development of innovative, outcome-focused approaches to young people’s residential care?

These are exciting times to work in Children and Young Peoples Residential Care with South Tyneside Council. The service is enjoying a considerable financial investment and improving outcomes for young people is a corporate priority. We are seeking a committed, experienced and pro-active Registered Manager to help us achieve our ambitions for young people.

The Registered Manager will ensure that the day-to-day care of young people is of the highest quality and in accordance with the values and principles of the service. You will ensure the provision of care which includes key working duties by the residential staff is of the highest possible standard. You will lead on the continued development of quality assurance processes which ensure outcomes are achieved and that interventions and direct work undertaken within the home is of the highest quality and develops in order to meet the current and future needs of children and young people. You will be responsible for ensuring data and performance of the service and those who work within it is accurate, timely and of the highest standard.

About You:
• You will be an experienced Registered Manager with proven supervisory experience and skills.
• You will have significant experience of delivering a wide range of interventions with children and young people.
• You have a proven ability to place the child / young person and family at the centre of all practice and decision making.
• You can demonstrate a highly developed awareness of child development, adolescence, family dynamics, mental health, substance misuse and domestic violence.
• You have a proven ability to establish working relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
