The Governors of Brandon Primary wish to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and capable Premises Manager to join our friendly school from May 8th 2017 or as soon as possible.

We are looking for someone who:
• can undertake minor repairs and maintenance of the building

Key duties are outlined in the attached job description and include:

• Ensure that buildings and site are secure, including during out of school hours and take remedial action as required.
• Daily maintenance of the whole school.
• Act as the designated key holder for the school premises.
• Operate and regularly check systems such as heating, cooling, lighting and security (including CCTV and alarms)
• Undertake minor repairs and maintenance of the buildings and site carrying out simple joinery/handyman repairs and maintenance duties including painting and repairing/maintaining fixtures and fittings, erecting shelves etc to ensure premises and fittings are safe and fit for purpose
•Arrange emergency repairs
•Arrange regular maintenance and safety checks
• Oversee onsite maintenance contractors, checking that work is completed to required standards and within required timescales.
• Undertake general portage duties, including moving furniture and equipment within the school.
• Perform duties in line with health and safety and COSHH regulations and take action where hazards are identified, report serious hazards to The Head Teacher immediately.
• Undertake regular health and safety checks of buildings, grounds, fixtures and fittings, (including compliance with safety regulations) and equipment, in line with other schedules.
• Basic grounds maintenance – snow clearing, salting during adverse weather, litter picking, bin emptying.
•Responsible for the overall maintenance of the swimming pool including carrying out daily swimming pool inspection, checks and records and attend relevant training.

Please note that the Childcare Disqualifications Regulations 2009 apply to this position and therefore you are required to complete the “disqualification by association” declaration form. Should you be successful in your application for this post, your appointment can not be progressed without this declaration.

Please note that this position is whole time, which means that you will be in attendance at work all year round (52 weeks a year) and will have an annual leave entitlement (26 days if you have less than 5 years’ continuous local government service, 31 days if you have in excess of 5 years’ continuous local government service; pro rata for part time), which must be taken during school closure periods. During periods of school closure outside of your annual leave entitlement, you are required to be in attendance at work.
