We are looking for a committed and experienced administrator to coordinate and minute the Fostering Panel and to work in the Fostering Service to provide an excellent service to children and foster carers.

Working closely with senior management, independent panel members, social workers and colleagues within the Fostering Team, key responsibilities will include the preparation, collation and co-ordination of documentation for twice monthly fostering panels and the production of timely, high quality accurate minutes. You will also maintain panel and social care recording systems, collating and analysing data for senior management.

The purpose of panels is to provide independent scrutiny of decision making and practice in relation to foster carer assessments, and the matching of children with permanent carers. Some knowledge of fostering issues is desirable, along with customer care and good communication skills.

It is essential you have a comprehensive working knowledge of IT systems particularly Microsoft Office including Excel. A NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent.

You must have experience of relevant business support experience including minute taking. You will need to be able to organise and prioritise your workload to ensure timescales are met. You should have effective written and oral communication skills demonstrating a high standard of accuracy. You must be able to input, retrieve and collate information from computerised and manual systems. You should have experience of implementing and developing of manual systems.

It is also desirable to have knowledge of Carefirst, Civica and Total View Systems.

We also provide supervision and yearly Achievement and Development Sessions.
